Can the toggle for "Archive" when closing a transaction default to "archive" to save a mouse click? I've found that when closing a transaction, it's more common to archive it at that time rather than coming back and archiving it later.

As long as archived files don't show up on the Documents to Review lists archiving at close should not be the default. Or brokers should be provided a toggle at the master level to control the default to archive or not. Agents come along behind and file missing documents after closing which need review in order to ensure broker supervision. A 30 day period before archiving as a policy satisfies DRE as a procedure. Or just have archived files show on Documents to Review again.

Whether or not the archive at closing is the default is a decision for the broker and should be made for the entire account at the Master Account level.

I agree, Cathy, that we shouldn't "auto-archive" transactions at close. Just as a point of clarification, I'm asking that the toggle when closing a transaction be set to "archive" by default, so that you have the option to "not archive" by clicking the toggle when closing a transaction.

Hi Kesha,
Thank you for taking the time to make the suggestion! Can you help me understand in what cases would you not archive a transaction? Also, what rough percentage would you say you archive at time of file closure?

Hey Buck! Every once in a great while, we "close" a transaction in SkySlope, but are still waiting for one or two docs to be uploaded prior to archiving it. I've found that if I archive it while waiting for an agent to track down one last item, we end up fielding the question of "I don't know where my transaction went, so I can't upload the doc." The vast majority of the time we are archiving at the same time we're closing a transaction out. maybe 1 out of 100 aren't archived at the same time.
