The Task list section is OVER complicated!

So, I am a checklist fanatic...if it's not written down, it won't get done, so I rely heavily on the TASK feature to smoothly manage our business.

With that said, your offering is almost TOO complicated....having to add in dates and then determine how many more days will pass before another task will happen, having a task being triggered by a another one. Every sale is not linear, so things don't always happen in the same order AND with two of us are working off the list, it becomes a complicated mess!

I'd suggest a SIMPLE 3 or 4 column task list that can be sorted how the user wants to...by subject, by title, by the # assigned to the task, by who its assigned to, by a simple 1,2,3 order system. Think a simple excel spreadsheet where the list can be sorted by a column of your choosing:

TASK #              TASK          ASSIGNED TO            NOTES

Thanks!

SS is a terrific platform and has great customer service...would love to see this oft-forgotten section get a facelift!

Hi Andrew!

Thank you so much for reaching out and providing this additional context! Would you envision important dates within the Tasks tab? Also, what information would you expect to be in a reminder?

Looking forward to your reply!

I agree the tasks function is overly complicated AND I'd like to see my "important dates" (think Loan contingency) listed somewhere.  It would also be helpful to be able to print my list of important dates so I can put them in my binder and take it with me or put it on the wall next to my computer in case I'm not working in the Skyslope suite.

If I put a task or important date in my calendar, that's great that it will remind me in a week but what if I'm trying to remember when the loan contingency expires - do I have to open my calendar and look day by day??

Think of a gas gauge.  Its fantastic to have a light come on telling me I'm almost out of gas (reminder) but what if I passed the last gas station for 200 miles a ways back.  That is where the GAUGE (list) comes in handy - I can look at the gauge any time I want and see how much gas I have.

I 100% agree. I'm the same way and I don't find these tasks to be user friendly at all. Even a simple change such as the ability to sort by due date would be helpful.
