Timing out / edit buttons

Why does the app keep timing out ? I take a call then go back to entering data and it blows away all of my data !!! The category edit buttons are useless.

I just spoke with awesome support and they are very good.  I understand the system has a time out of about 15-20 minutes and the parent company requires this.   That is fine.

HOWEVER

We do not know we are timed out and go to save or do something and it fails.  We need something in the UI that let's us know when we are timing out..  Can be a timer?  a pop-up warning.. SOMETHING so we don't feel stupid and waste time trying to do something that was never going to be successful.
