Previously SkySlope had a great working search feature for file (with the exception of pulling up files based on the contact names)

In the past, if you input an address the search result would pull up all files related but now the address has to be either exact or shorten to just the numerical number for results to appear. This has been the case since the filters were rolled out. Who asked for the filters? SkySlope search results now work like DocuSign Rooms which is a step in the wrong direction.

We search for addresses based on how we encounter the address. Having to now make this adjustment is added time.

Hi, was this search filter an ask from agents/brokers & users because it is a step in the wrong direction. Before the update I find what I was looking for quickly with no problem so did everyone else on our team. Now with the update you have to adjust your input to get any results, resulting in more time spent searching for a file. I can assure you this is the experience for me and my team.

Not sure what data you're looking at but be sure you not using a bias to fit your story. SkySlope search now functions like other products such as DocuSign rooms, a step in the wrong direction. This is what we will be reporting to our leadership team.

Hi Pierre,

Thanks so much for your feedback!

We're glad you've had an opportunity to try the new search functionality. One of the things we changed with search was how we matched characters and strings of characters.

Before, if you typed "900 S Street", you would see any results with "9", "0", "0", "S", "S", "t", "r", "e", "e", or "t". Those results were then sorted logically, so users would eventually find what they were looking for, but because there were so many matches, the right result would often get buried.

We've updated our search algorithm so that strings of characters, instead of individual characters, are now considered. For example, "900", "S", or 'Street". This would explain why you no longer see a match between "South" and "S". We completely understand how this kind of search input (i.e., direction) can be a downside of this new feature. The upside is that, in most cases, you will have more accurate results that are closer to what you are actually searching for. Our initial reporting shows that users are able to find results faster with the new search algorithm.

We'll continue to monitor how search is being used and user feedback on the new search algorithm. There is always room for improvement, so please continue to share your experience as new features are rolled out.

Thanks again,

Carlo, Product Manager
