having to re-click desired boxes several times

How come every time you want to add a clients signature/date, etc. you have to re-click on that tab each time to add? Before you could be on a particular clients section to sign and click only once on date (for instance) and then go to the document in several places where date is required without every time going back and forth on the date tab each place where required - too many extra steps and again takes time that it didn't take before
