This option is critical and is the primary reason I'm currently looking for a different e-sign platform, even though this one is provided by my broker.
Ideally, it should be an option on every envelope, maybe with a default setting for ease of use. - Contracts are not legally ratified until they have been delivered back to all parties. At least in my area, that means the PDF attachment; a link is not sufficient to be legally binding. So, by sending the PDF once all signatures are complete, that immediately completes the legal requirements. Without the PDF attachment, I would have to hover over my email waiting for signatures so I can then manually email the documents back to all parties - even if they get signed after business hours, which is typical - in order to fulfill my responsibility to my clients. - Occasionally I do need to send a document securely, with no PDF attached. A good example of this is a rental application which contains sensitive info like SSNs. In this case, a link only is preferred.
I'm surprised that you cite file size as an issue. What are you putting in those files??? ;) DocuSign attaches the PDFs and I've never had a problem. As a real estate agent, anything huge, like condo docs, typically doesn't require a signature and is therefore delivered using a different method. (If a signature is required to acknowledge receipt of the documents, that signature form can be sent separately.)

Hi Tami!
Thank you for taking the time to submit this suggestion. Most email servers (e.g. Gmail) have a cap on the file size you are allowed to email as an attachment. A lot of completed DigiSign envelopes end up being larger than this cap.
I'd like to learn more about how this would benefit your workflow. If you were to receive the completed document as an attachment, can you take me through your workflow of how would you use this?
