Clearing Cache/Cookies Upon Browser Exit

If you're on a public or shared computer and would like to enable clearing the cache/cookies upon exiting the browser, simply follow the steps for the browser you are utilizing:

 

Chrome

In order to enable clearing out cookies upon exiting your Chrome browser, you would do the following:

1) In the upper right hand corner, click on the 3 horizontal bars.

2) On the drop down menu, select ‘Settings’

3) Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on ‘Show advanced settings…’

4) Under the ‘Privacy’ category, click on the ‘Content settings…’ button.

5) On the pop up window, under ‘Cookies,’ select the ‘Keep local data only until you quit your browser’ option and then click on ‘Done’ to finalize this selection.

Now, when you exit your Chrome browser, your cookies will automatically be deleted.

 

 

FireFox

In order to enable clearing out cookies upon exiting your FireFox  browser, you would do the following:

1) In the upper right hand corner, click on the 3 horizontal bars.

 

2) On the drop down menu, click on ‘Options’

 

 

3) This will open up a new tab for FireFox's settings. Click on the Privacy tab on the left hand side of the page.

Once on the Privacy tab, under the History section, click on the drop down menu for Firefox will: and select ‘Use custom settings for history.’

To clear cache and cookies upon exit, you will want to check mark the last option, ‘Clear history when Firefox closes’ and then exit out of the tab to save changes. 

 

 

Now, when you exit your FireFox browser, your cookies will automatically be deleted.

 

 

Internet Explorer

In order to enable clearing out cookies upon exiting your Internet Explorer browser, you would do the following:

1) Click on the Gear (Tools) icon in the upper right hand corner of the browser.

2) On the drop down menu, click on ‘Internet options’ near the bottom.

3) On the pop up window that comes up, under the ‘Browsing History’ section, checkmark the checkbox for ‘Delete browsing history on exit.’ Lastly, click on OK to save this change.

Now, when you exit your Internet Explorer browser, your cookies will automatically be deleted. 

 

 

Safari

Unfortunately at this time, Safari does not support this feature.

Edge

Unfortunately at this time, Edge does not support this feature.
